Senator... All of this is news from the future for me. I partially know what's going to happen, but I don't know who's involved or why exactly and-

I'm trying to understand, Senator. If I keep dwelling on scenarios and make up possible reasons I'm just driving myself mad.

I don't know why it happened. I was as shocked as anyone by what happened at the Jedi Temple. I just knew that Palpatine was involved. And that tif he could influence you to kill those children, no child was safe.

I did it to save Padmé.

[ what's the point in hiding it now, anyway. ]

And our child. So we could be a family and live together... Do you know how it is to give up everything in hope of saving the one thing you care about the most only to learn that it is all about to backfire on you? I keep getting told that there's nothing I can do to change any of this. That Padmé will die and our children grow up hating or fearing me.

[ There's a flash of grief here. A deeply running sadness that carries a faint anger. ]

It's a terrible thing to be told.

It was difficult to watch. None of us wanted things to go the way they did.

I don't know if there's anything you can do to change what happened, what will happen. But I have to do what's best for Leia.
